2001 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4×4 Transmission Or Transfer Case Problems. Can Some One Help?
When I put my Jeep into gear it takes about 15-30 seconds to shift into gear and then after is drives for about 30 seconds it makes a grinding noise then it will slip out of gear. The transmission fluid is pink and does not smell like it is burning. Whould you think it is a transmission problem or transfer case problem? Any ideas on anything I can do to repair insead of getting a new transmissision or t-case? I thank you all or help.

The problem is tranny related, not the transfer case.
Take it to the shop for diagnosis, may be mechanical, may be electrical.

My wife’s 02 liberty used to keep slipping out of gear while driving. It took the shop 2 times to fix it, and believe it or not, it wasn’t the actual transmission, it was some kind of computer chip malfunctioning.
