The Jeep was in neutral and pulled on on 4 wheels.
I’m considering of acquiring a used 1991 cherokee. It has above 300,000 miles, I’ve been informed most of these miles are from being towed behind a motorhome. It really is an automatic transmission. If the miles are from getting towed then what type of harm ought to be anticipated from this?

Query by Supraman: Does a Jeep have to have mirrors to be road legal in Oregon?
I was going to consider the doors off of my girlfriend’s jeep but the mirrors are bolted onto them. I know there are mirrors that you can acquire and attach to the windshield/hood but lately I’ve discovered a couple of jeeps driving all around with the doors off and no mirrors so I was wondering if that is legal or not to do in Oregon. Many thanks!

1987 thru 1995 will certainly match. You could probably get one particular from a cj-7 (1976 or so thru 1986) that matches, as well. I’ve acquired one from a 1990 if you want it, and are in the northeast.

Will auto insurance cover small engine fire?

My 2002 Jeep Wrangler, which I am still paying for, had a small engine fire. We had not drivin it in a couple of months because it was not running well. My husband started it to move it to another place in the yard and it made a high pitched noise. It was only running for about 5 minutes when he shut it off. We then heard the sounds of fire, we got the fire out but im wondering if Insurance will cover the repairs, It has full coverage since we dont “own” it yet.

How many Dodge autos & Jeeps are built in Germany?

The Dodge Sprinter van, same as the Freightliner, is built in Germany. It is partally disassembled, rear axel, engine/trans and front suspension, then reassembled in South Carolina to keep from paying duty.

Do they do the same thing with some of those goofy looking cars and jeeps that have come on the market in the last couple years?
I realize that the Sprinter vans are built by Mercedes, in Germany and reassembled in South Carolina. I have visited the Freightliner plant in Gaffney, where this used to be done.

No matter what you do to these vans, changing grills & taillights, it’s titled as either a Freightliner or Dodge.

The reason for this question was: many new models of Jeeps and Dodges arrived on the market with variations in design from what had been offered in the past.

Are these variations due to being built in Germany or just German design. All this should change now that ownership has changed, hopefully for the better.

I have a 2004 Jeep Wrangler that doesn’t not turn over when you try to start it?

I know I do not have a starter problem because I took the starter off and had Advance Auto Parts test it. I also was able to run a wire from the positive on my battery to the starter and with the clutch in it will start. I believe it is the wiring or a relay. Does anyone know where I would look to check voltage on everything?

Where can I get the under-hood light for a 1998 Jeep Wrangler Sport?

I’m not lost without it, but it’s just one of those things that if I knew where I could buy it I’d get one. I’ve tried local auto-parts stores but none of them are able to order it.

Just to clarify, I’m talking about the small rectangular plastic box with a bulb inside and a small weight that slides to turn the light on and off when the hood is raised and lowered respectively.
