The minute I bolted these supports onto my 2000 Jeep Cherokee, I knew they were better than the Stabilus brand liftgate supports I received about 6 months ago. Those were such a pile of crap. I remember when I first installed them, they were WAY over pressured (probably off the shelf for 20 other makes). The Stabilus brackets looked bent into a very funny angle, so I should have known they were not going to work very long anyhow. These StrongArm supports are GREAT. The fact that the attachment to the actual liftgate uses a pin through the strut itself, does wonders. Also, the liftgate doesn’t want to knock your teeth out (when I had the Stabilus struts installed) and has sort of an exponential opening speed, where it requires you to lightly lift it up until about 40% and then takes over. These are the ones to get. DO NOT PURCHASE Stabilus brand or you will be sadly disappointed. Now, a happy customer. Free shipping is a bonus. Best rate on the net here on Amazon.

OEM manufacturing makes this product work for me, I expect years of service out of this equipment. The dealer wanted $40 per for what I ordered here.

I was amazed at the price for these lifts. They were on sale plus an extra $5 off for two, plus free shipping. I couldn’t touch that price at any of the local auto parts stores for poorly made lifts.
They were very easy to install and have been working perfectly in subfreezing temperatures for over a month. The OEM lifts lasted for about 8 years and failed to hold the gate up when it was cold. I should have replaced them a couple of years ago but could not bring myself to spend the $ for a good set of lifts. These lift supports are worth it so far and if they don’t work out, they were still worth a try for the price!

Installed these on a 1999 Jeep XJ Cherokee in about 20 mins start to finish and they work as well or better than the factory lifts that came on the Jeep.
Same part number fits both right and left sides, you simply have to flip the upper bracket over on one of them with your finger to have it fit the other side.
I will certainly buy this brand again when needed.
Standard shipping was very fast and product was delivered in perfect condition.
