2001 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4×4 Transmission Or Transfer Case Problems. Can Some One Help?

When I put my Jeep into gear it takes about 15-30 seconds to shift into gear and then after is drives for about 30 seconds it makes a grinding noise then it will slip out of gear. The transmission fluid is pink and does not smell like it is burning. Whould you think it is a transmission problem or transfer case problem? Any ideas on anything I can do to repair insead of getting a new transmissision or t-case? I thank you all or help.

I’m about to buy a jeep grand cherokee but they said it misfires when first started up but it drives perfectly fine. What could this have to do with the jeep? And how much would it be to replace what needs to be fixed?
They said it might be the spark plugs.
