Query by Kevo: My Jeep Grand Cherokee has just started out getting a 6-beep tone everytime I start off it. What is it?
It is a 1999 Jeep that for some explanation has started out sounding two sets of three beeps each and every time I start off it. The sound seems to emanate from about the steering column. Any tips on what this may be would be drastically appreciated.

The light will then turn off after re-starting the car. The car has been doing this for a little over a month off and on. I have been getting oil changes every 2,000 miles hoping to cure the problem. The Jeep is idling and running very rough and the transition between gears is very harsh.

1988 Jeep Wrangler Shuts Down When Key Is Released From Start Position?

Sunday, February 7th, 2010

I have an 88 Jeep Wrangler. When the key is turned into the start position the engine will start. As soon as the key is released into the on position the engine will shut down. Electrical power is still available. It will stay running as long as the key remains in the start position. Could this be the ignition module?

Jeep Hard To Start When The Engine Is Cold?

Sunday, February 7th, 2010

I have a 94 Jeep Grand Cherokee. When the engine has sat for a while, it will barely turn over. This started about a week ago. After it has run for a few minutes, it will fire up like the battery is fully charged. If it sits for 10 minutes or 2 days, it starts as if the battery is dead. The battery is fairly new (about 3 months old). Any ideas as to what is wrong?
